A key part of our strategic focus is our foothold in the highly prospective Tien Shan Belt, one of the most prolific and mineral-rich geological belts in the world. Stretching across Central Asia, the Tien Shan is renowned for its exceptional endowment of gold, copper, and other base and precious metals, and hosts some of the world’s largest and most successful mines, including the Kumtor Gold Mine in Kyrgyzstan, Muruntau in Uzbekistan — one of the biggest gold mines globally — and major operations like the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. Vast Resources’ presence in Tajikistan, in a prime area of this globally significant belt, provides us with a unique opportunity to tap into its vast potential, applying our technical expertise and responsible mining approach to unlock value and deliver sustainable benefits for all stakeholders.
Vast Resources is working to expand gold mining and processing facilities at the Aprelevka group of mines and central processing facility, where the Company holds a 49% beneficial interest, alongside the Government of Tajikistan, which holds the remaining 51%. Our objective is to increase production capacity and extend the life of the mine through the development of new mining areas, the upgrade of existing processing plants, and the introduction of advanced mining technologies to enhance efficiency and ensure environmental best practice.
